![]() ![]() ![]() Last night there was an updated version 4.something. Within a major release version there are multiple free updates during the lifecycle. The filmpack and perspective correction add on programs have had much longer release schedules. In my experience the release cycle is yearly for paid updates to the main product. I can’t speak to this new version yet - I’m still using version 4 as 5 just came out. Functionalities I use very often in Capture One Pro.ĭoes anybody experience any major weaknesses of DxO PhotoLab 5 compared to CaptureOne Pro? What's the release cycle of updates one has to pay for? ![]() Especially I didn't use local adjustments and other advanced tools. Until now I nearly only used standard corrections. Even the DA*11-18 correction module works nicely on FF images. Something I really miss in Capture One Pro. Similar fast like CatureOne Pro, very good image quality, easy to use and clear organised user interface.īest of all: there seems to be a lens correction module available for every Pentax lens I use. This is how I use Capture One Pro.įirst impression is very good. I downloaded the Mac trial version.ĭid some tests and now can say that it seems to be similar using Capture One Pro with Sessions (instead of catalogs). So with this version of DxO PhotoLab 5 and a tempting introduction price of 164,99 € I became curious what this software would offer. In addition my impression ist, that they more and more drift to the subscription price model (monthly, yearly). But the updates became more expensive every year - they now cost 229,- € (one-time payment) and contain mostly advances I don't really need and brands like Sony, Fuji, Canon and Nikon are supported much better than Pentax. Since years I'm a user of CaptureOne Pro (from C1P 7 I think) regularly updating nearly every year. ![]()
